چکیده
This article studies clogging phenomena using a velocity-based model for pedestrian dynamics. First, method to identify prolonged clogs in simulations was introduced. Then bottleneck were implemented with different initial and boundary conditions. The number of analyzed investigate the decisive factors causing this phenomenon. Moreover, time lapse between two consecutive agents passing exit, trajectories analyzed. influence three type studied: parameters spatial boundaries, algorithmic related implementation model, movement model. Parameters boundaries include width position exit. Algorithmic are update methods size step. Model cover several describing level motivation, strength range impact among agents, shape agents. results show that occurrence is closely linked but has virtually no correlation factors.

Hybrid Techniques for Pedestrian Simulations
There exist multiple models for pedestrian simulations. Cell based models are easy to understand, fast, but consume a lot of memory once the scenario becomes larger. In models based on continuous space, which need almost no memory at all, however, the CPU becomes the bottleneck soon. In our project “Planning with Virtual Alpine Landscapes and Autonomous Agents”, we simulate an area of 150 squar...
متن کاملComputer Simulations of Pedestrian Dynamics and Trail Formation
A simulation model for the dynamic behaviour of pedestrian crowds is mathematically formulated in terms of a social force model, that means, pedestrians behave in a way as if they would be subject to an acceleration force and to repulsive forces describing the reaction to borders and other pedestrians. The computational simulations presented yield many realistic results that can be compared wit...
متن کاملBottleneck effect in three-dimensional turbulence simulations.
At numerical resolutions around 512(3) and above, three-dimensional energy spectra from turbulence simulations begin to show noticeably shallower spectra than k(-5/3) near the dissipation wave number ("bottleneck effect"). This effect is shown to be significantly weaker in one-dimensional spectra such as those obtained in wind tunnel turbulence. The difference can be understood in terms of the ...
متن کاملSimulation of Pedestrian Dynamics with Macroscopic and Microscopic Mathematical Models
Here, we collect two parts of a research project on the pedestrian flow modeling. Rapid growth in the volume of public transport and the need for its reasonable, efficient planning have made the description and modeling of transport and pedestrian behaviors as important research topics in the past twenty years. First, we present a macroscopic model for the pedestrian flow based on continuum mec...
متن کاملExtended Range Telepresence for Evacuation Training in Pedestrian Simulations
In this contribution, we propose a new framework to evaluate pedestrian simulations by using Extended Range Telepresence. Telepresence is used as a virtual reality walking simulator, which provides the user with a realistic impression of being present and walking in a virtual environment that is much larger than the real physical environment, in which the user actually walks. The validation of ...
